The centre has been focusing its attention in the empowerment of women and youths by engaging them into various entrepreneurial activities. The Centre has been working extensively in this field in order to concretize the efforts by keeping gender issues in sharp focus and striving to increase access and control of the poor on productive resources and facilities with a gender sensitive approach, based on needs assessment. Various trainings in both farm sector and non-farm sector have been our constant approach and with great degree of success and impact. Examples of training imparted include: mobile repairing, tailoring, poultry, piggery, different types of crops technologies – mushroom farming, cardamon cultivation, tea cultivation and vegetable production among others. For income generation we empowered women in by training them in dish wash detergent making, hand-wash liquid, clothes detergent powders.
